To improve the personal financial literacy of Kindergarten through college-age youth by providing advocacy, research, standards, and educational resources. We strive to prepare youth for life-long successful financial decision-making.
Our Unique Proposition
Utah Jump$tart is a coalition of organizations, which share a commitment to the financial education of youth. Working collaboratively, more resources and expertise are available to accomplish this task.
We accomplish our mission by:
- Raising awareness of the need for personal finance fundamentals;
- Enhancing the effectiveness of personal financial education;
- Promoting responsible fiscal attitudes and behaviors; and
- Encouraging networking and cooperative efforts among business, community, government and education.

Jump$tart and UHEAA Announce 2008 Scholarship Winners
In celebration of Financial Literacy Month, the Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority (UHEAA) and the Utah Jump$tart Coalition presented $1,000 scholarships to extend Daniel Wouden of Murray High School and Jonathon Cannon of Viewmont High School. Scholarships are provided to two students who have demonstrated a strong knowledge and sound demonstration of financial literacy concepts and financial collegiate planning.

Utah High School General Financial Literacy Course
Thanks to the changes implemented by S.B. 154, Utah's children will be better prepared for the financial choices that lie ahead for them.
The Utah High School General Financial Literacy Course for grades 11-12 includes:

Consumer Protection
Risk Management

Utah Jump$tart Receives National Coalition of the Year Award
The Utah Jump$tart Coalition was awarded the 2006 National State Coalition of the Year award from the national Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.
The Utah Jump$tart CoalitionĀ® for Personal Financial Literacy (UJ$C)was organized in September 2000 and became an official National Jump$tart coalition affiliate in February of 2001. UJ$C is a statewide, all volunteer, 501(c)(3)non-profit organization. Consisting of individuals and organizations, the coalition brings together leaders from business, government, and educators. UJ$C is governed by volunteer Board of Directors and Advisory Committee members. This Website has been approved by the Utah State Office of Education as a recommended resource for students and teachers.
